Cassie + Dylan
Location: Edgefield McMennamins, Troutdale OR
Sooo, Edgefield is one of my favorite hang out spots...hands down. The grounds are gorgeous, filled with eclectic pieces of art and meticulously maintained landscaping. So I was beyond thrilled to be asked to shoot a wedding at this location. Cassie and Dylan are one of the most "chill" couples ever; down to earth and fun to be around.
Enjoy their pics of their special day!
Eliza + Jevin
Location: Jevin's parents' house/property
I try not to pick favorites, but there are some weddings that stand out as "the prettiest", or "the most unique", or "the funnest bridal party",or "the most laid back/stress free"....If I were to choose, Eliza and Jevin's wedding would have to fall under every category. The weather and location were perfect. Jevin's parents live on a gorgeous piece of property just outside Beaverton. (They also have the coolest mode of transportation on the property, basically a souped-up golf-cart called "the mule", I wanted one by the end of the day)
Eliza and Jevin met in Australia (where Eliza was from). Funny fact; the only contact Eliza and I had prior to the wedding was via email, so imagine my surprise when I met her for the first time upstairs in the "bride's room" and discovered she has this super awesome Australian accent. (I'm sure you get that all the time, Eliza...my apologies. But I loooove accents) :)
Anyways, congratulations to the two of you. Your big day was beautiful and here's to many many many more years together. Bon Voyage in all your travels in the future.
Lanijo + Andy
Location: Leach Botanical Gardens, Portland, OR
I was so honored to be able to shoot Lanijo and Andy's beautiful and intimate wedding at Leach Botanical Gardens. This was the most laid back and stress-free wedding I have ever been to which means it was the BEST! :) Congratulations, Lanijo and Andy!!
(normally, I don't dedicate such a large selection of "first glimpse photos", but this sequence is just so cute I couldn't resist posting like 7 pics of just their first glimpse shots. Love it. So precious. Enjoy!
(adorable) :)
Marie + Kellan
Location: Log House Garden at Willow Lake, Keizer OR
I was beyond thrilled to second shoot and assist at this wedding for "RosenCrown Photography". Amy and I had a blast and Marie and Kellan were such a great couple to hang out with. My favorite part of the day came right before sunset when we stole the bride and groom away for a couple of minutes to catch some dreamy sun rays before they disappeared. Typically, I'm not a fan of forest fires, but due to the Pit 36 Estacada fire going on 40+ miles away, made for some great haze to make the pictures SO memorable. Congrats Marie and Kellan!!
Jill + Landon
Location: Kelley Point Park (ceremony) and North Star Ballroom (reception)
After a whole summer-season of waiting..and waiting...and waiting, Jill and Landon's September wedding finally came! The beautiful ceremony was held at Kelley Point park, overlooking where the two rivers merged; naturally creating a perfect symbol of their two lives coming together. After the ceremony, their reception was held in the historic North Star Ballroom. These two couldn't be more comfortable in front of the camera, (aghh, why can't I be??) and I thoroughly enjoyed being a part of their special day.
Roxanne + Kyle
Location: Parent's house, Damascus, OR
These two were SO. MUCH. FUN! They met during study hall in high school and became high school sweet hearts and have been together for 7+ years! I absolutely LOVED being a part of their special day which was held at Roxanne's parents lovely house.
Jill + Landon (Bride/Groom Session)
Location: Kelley Point Park, Portland, OR
Even though their wedding is not for another month, I met up with Jill and Landon to get some special bride/groom alone-time that is so rare in the busy schedule of a wedding day. Jill's gown is gorgeous, custom made from a local shop in Portland. They were both great sports, and awesome to work with, not to mention, both naturals in front of the camera (sigh, why can't I be?) lol. Stay tuned for their wedding pictures in September!
Sarah + James
Location: Timberline Lodge, Mt. Hood, OR
After talking to them for just a few minutes, I learned that Sarah and James had made the move from Chicago and the majority of their wedding guests would be from out of town, "so what better place to show off Oregon than Timberline Lodge?!" they said. And I wholeheartedly agreed. Timberline is just one of those magical places that is hard to forget that I have MANY memories from growing up (learned to ski at the age of 6).
The day couldn't have been more perfect. It was a balmy 75 degrees, sunny with occasional clouds, and a slight breeze. The ceremony was tastefully conducted with readings from close friends and relatives, and they planted a TREE!!! How cool is THAT!! Loved it!
Sarah and James are totally chill people; plus, their dog Huck is awesome too. The wedding party was one of the most rambunctious, fun, energetic, active, and entertaining group that I have ever photographed (love it when that happens) and we all just had a blast.
Congratulations, Sarah and James. Here's to many, many, many happy years together!
And this one's just for fun. Shows what type of wedding party this was: CRAZY AWESOME!
Heidy + Grant
Location: Weddings on the Hill, West Linn, OR
Heidy and Grant's wedding was G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S. It was held at Weddings on the Hill, an estate house built in the 30's from a Sear's Catalog! (Who'da thunk that Sears sold houses and built them?!) The weather was iffy all day, and seemed that it couldn't make up it's mind, starting as overcast in the morning with threatening clouds, which turned to light sprinkles, then patches of sunlight, then back to showers, then back to sunlight. But it made the mood of the day so magical as the sunlight poked through the dramatic clouds. By the end of the day, I felt as if I had been "adopted" into Heidy and Grant's new family because of the welcoming dynamic of the families that were joining. Congratulations, Heidy and Grant!
Heidy + Grant (Wedding Session)
Location: Lower MacLeay Park (Forest Park), Portland
This couple is so special and were a joy to be around; Heidy has such an infectious laugh, and by the end of the evening, she had us all laughing so hard. Heidy and Grant have been together for 10 years, and on June 28th, tied the knot. So one week prior to their wedding, we did a little shoot at Lower MacLeay Park. Much thanks to my friend Amy for joining us and helping out!
Erin+ Steve
Location: St. John's Cathedral Park, Portland
Erin and Steve are just so much fun and laid back. They TRULY know how to celebrate the new year by getting married on New Year's Eve! The setting was breathtaking and peaceful at the St. John's Cathedral Park on a dock near the bridge. The weather was a wonderful mixture of foggy, yet sunny was trying to peek through. So magical.
(Steve made the beautiful cake topper)
Hannah+ Raymond
Location: Gig Harbor, Washington
In the middle of the woods
When Hannah told me that her wedding would be outdoors in the middle of a forest, I was soooo excited to shoot it; and then she told me "think Twilight wedding". To be honest, I think Hannah's wedding turned out even more beautiful, but that is probably my biased/personal opinion. Ray and Hannah are the perfect couple for each other;every time Ray looked at Hannah, you could see the love he has for her. My favorite part of the wedding, was the ceremony when they were exchanging vow. At one point, they read to each other vows that they had written. Ray's were short and to the point, very direct and serious....and to contrast that, Hannah's vows to Ray were serious also, but also HILARIOUS!!! I almost died laughing when she included the phrase, "I will still love you, even if some day you are not jacked." LOVE IT!!! :)
Hannah's bridal session/pics are here. (There were just too many favorites that I couldn't narrow it down to only 2 pictures, so I put a category for her under the "Bridal Session".
Amy+ Kris
Location: Longview, Washington
First Christian Church
Amy was a stunning bride. She is gorgeous already as it is, but when
she put on her wedding dress, her mom totally summed it up by saying, "Amy, all
brides are beautiful, but you just transformed!"
And until I asked them, I assumed Kenzie (the maid of honor) was Amy's sister because of the way they laughed and their mannerisms, but found out I was wrong. There were so many favorite pics of Amy that I found, that I just had to make a separate section for her in "Bridals".
Right before their vows the pastor asked each of them if they had anything special they wanted to say to each other; what they both said to each other was so touching and heartfelt. May God bless you both as you continue to serve Him.
Emily + Joe
Location: Hillsboro, Oregon
Jackson Bottom Wetlands
Emily and Joe had a gorgeous, organic-ish- elvish- natural-ish- artsie-ish wedding that I absolutely LOVED. (I like it when couples branch out of the "norm" and taylor-make their wedding to symbolize themselves in nearly everything: from the cakes, to the bouquets, to the neck-ties, and turquoise shoes.) Emily's mom made Emily's dress, major props to her! Their wedding favors were tiny jars of homemade Taeberry and Blackberry jam....super tasty! Enjoy the pics!
Liisa + Brian
Location: Tacoma, Washington
Liisa and I had a "unique" relationship in college, in that we were floorleader partners. Which basically means we were: cock-roach killing buddies, white-glove inspector team, partners-in-crime, and of course, best of friends. I am so excited for her and Brian as they begin their lives together; and I was so excited to be a part of their big day.
Laura + Javier
Location: Pensacola, Florida
Aviation Memorial Chapel, Navy Base
Laura and Javier's wedding colors were the same as my wedding: Blue and yellow. I had never been to the chapel on the base, but when Laura and I walked through it a week before their wedding, I was thrilled by the high ceiling and good ol' southern chapel look. The wedding ceremony was beautiful, and obviously so was the color theme. Lol. Congrats to the both of you and God bless.
3 generations: Grandma, Bride, and Mother of the Bride.
Scenda + Steven
Location: Pensacola, Florida (Paul's on the Bay)
When Scenda told me her wedding was outdoors, I was so excited. (I'm partially biased towards outdoor weddings because my wedding was outdoor also. I can honestly say that their wedding was one of the most beautiful and romantic weddings I have ever seen. Scenda said her vows to Steven in English; and Steven said his vows in Indonesian to her so that her parents could understand his commitment to her. After the sun set on the bay, the candles were lit in the hanging lanterns, making the whole setting so romantic and lovely. Congrats to the both of you, Scenda and Steven!
Trina + Zech
Location: Puyallup, Washington
My older brother finally got hitched!!! I was so glad to be able to witness the event as they exchanged their vows in Puyallup, Washington (by the way...I don't think I ever said the word "Puyallup" the same way twice...it's a mouth-full!) Trina's wedding wish: SNOW!! And she got it!! As the ceremony was coming to an end, huge flakes started falling, making it a true winter wonderland wedding. So happy for you and love you both. Enjoy the pics!
Love this one! (I told them all to jump, but only the ringbearer got the message apparently!)
I did a "Beatles Album Cover" re-take pic before at Allie and Levi's wedding, but this one seemed to fit too.
It was sooooo cold. Such brave souls.
Trina and her "Snow" wish! So happy!
What's a wedding without a goofy pic or two?
Jessy + Ricky
Location: Saint John Chapel, Pensacola, FL
Jessy and Ricky have a super cute story on how they met and ultimately fell in love. He was involved in an assisted living visitation ministry, and Jessy was interested in helping out with the ministry. They met there and became friends. As their relationship developed, Ricky even traveled to Indonesia (where Jessy's from originally) to meet her parents. Their wedding was beautiful and we were fortunate enough to have perfect weather (despite it being in the middle of December). You can view Jessy's Bridal Photoshoot here.
Congratulations Jessy and Ricky. May God bless you with many years of happiness together!
(I love the ringbearer's reaction) :)
Allie + Levi
Location: Pensacola Beach Community Church
I met both Allie and Levi in college through my roomate, and was honored to take their pictures (only 2 days after we graduated.) That was a crazy week! Most of the pictures were taken outside on the beach. The weather was scary, with clouds on the horizon, but the rain waited just long enough for us to get a couple good shots and then it began to pour during the reception.
Congratulations to you both.
Super cute ring bearer....didn't know what to do with the pillow. So cute! :)
